My bags are packed; I’m ready to go.
By the time this post goes live, I will be scrambling to attend to last minute details like refilling my 3 oz. TSA-approved toiletry bottles and checking for the thousandth time that my ticket is in my purse before my week-long trip to visit friends in Oregon!
I last visited these friends in June, and while I certainly wasn’t expecting to see them again so soon, I’m thrilled I have the chance! Last time, we made the trek up to Portland for a concert (FALL OUT BOY. I cried.) and stopped by Powell’s while we were in the area. Let me tell you. That place is dangerous to your wallet. Fortunately, I only ended up walking away with Rick Yancey’s The 5th Wave… and a new Kobo Mini (Hey, it was on sale!).
While I’m gone, I won’t be replying to comments or visiting anyone’s blogs, and that makes me sad… but I will certainly be active on Twitter and Instagram (especially during long waits at airports), so be sure to follow me there if you’d like to see what shenanigans I’m up to (spoiler alert: It will be mostly coffee.).
I’ll be back with a vengeance sometime on the 24th, during which time I will be readjusting to my own time zone and feverishly attempting to catch up on what I missed in the blogosphere (while attempting to put off unpacking my bags as long as possible).
I’ve got a few books loaded up on the aforementioned Kobo Mini and I’m looking forward to catching up on my reading during my travels. During my last trip home from Oregon, I mostly read The 5th Wave (which I admittedly have yet to finish, but so far it’s fantastic!), and I’m looking forward to the possibility of discovering another new favorite this time!
I miss you already! What are the best books you’ve read while traveling?
